Dr. Jason C. Dunham serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Tarboro. He leads with a shepherd's heart, a deep love for God's Word, and a passion for strengthening the local church. His ministry is characterized by clear, Christ-centered preaching, intentional discipleship, and a commitment to cultivating unity within the body of Christ. With a warm pastoral presence and steady leadership, Dr. Dunham aims to help believers grow in spiritual maturity, mission, and everyday faithfulness.

Dr. Dunham earned both his B.A. and Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Ashford University. He later completed a Master of Practical Theology, with a concentration in Church and Ministry Leadership, from Regent University's School of Divinity, where he also earned his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.). His doctoral work focuses on church leadership, revitalization, and equipping congregations for long-term health, mission, and Spirit-led unity.

In addition to his pastoral and academic ministry, Dr. Dunham is the author of "Christmas Devotions: Chasing the Star of Bethlehem," a heartfelt devotional that invites believers to rediscover the wonder, hope, and joy of Christ's incarnation. His love for the Christmas season reflects his joy in the gospel and his desire to help others experience the beauty of God's redemptive story.

Before entering full-time ministry, Dr. Dunham served faithfully in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 2013 after 20 years of honorable service. His military background continues to shape his approach to leadership, discipline, and service—qualities that strengthen his pastoral ministry and his commitment to shepherding God's people with integrity.

Dr. Dunham enjoys BBQing and grilling, and he is known for his enthusiasm for all things Christmas. He has been married to his wife, Melinda (Lindy) Dunham, for over 28 years. Together they have two daughters, Savannah and Sadie, who are currently attending Liberty University.
